People who have been bereaved of a partner while still young face an uncertain future. And while trying to rethink that future, they are dealing with loneliness, isolation, dashed hopes – and perhaps the needs of young children.
One of their greatest needs, when dealing with this untimely loss, is to have someone who really understands – someone who has walked that path before.
This is where A Different Journey can help. It was set up by Care for the Family to support those bereaved of a partner early in life. Managed by people who have been through the experience themselves, it seeks to support and bring hope for the future through events, email newsletters, web articles and telephone befriending.
It can also help churches to support the bereaved by suggesting resources and other helpful organisations.
