Single Parent Family is a Care for the Family project specifically for those who parent alone. It is managed by someone who’s ‘been there’.

Putting single parents in contact with other mums and dads who understand the challenges of parenting on their own means they gain strength from knowing they’re not alone. And this project also provides church leaders with suggestions about how to set up support groups or special days for single parents, and gives insights into the pressures faced by the parents themselves.

Support, advice and information is available to you and to the single parents you’re supporting, including:

  • Paper on how to run a ‘Single Parent Fair’ in your church – a free event with information and special treats available for single parents and their children.
  • Single parent start-up guide for those wanting to set up a local support group.
  • Single Parent Family email newsletter delivered bi-monthly to your inbox, containing stories, articles and information for those parenting alone.
  • Take a Break – family building breaks for parents and their children.
  • Support Net website with free papers available to download, many of which address the single parent situation (such as ‘Emotional Rescue - Coping with emotions as a single parent’).
  • A Top Tips booklet written by and for single parents.
