Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to people in debt through its unique, in-depth service.

Opening a CAP centre

Christians Against Poverty partners with local churches across the UK to deliver top quality debt counselling services. CAP provides a professional debt counselling tool, while the church – which is at the heart of God’s work - provides the support, care and welcome to those interested in knowing more.

Working in partnership with CAP will empower the church with:

  • A professional debt counselling service offered free of charge
  • A chance for church members to be empowered to serve the community
  • An individual from the partner church employed by CAP to set up and run the centre.

CAP is committed to working with churches from many different denominations and backgrounds. CAP doesn’t simply offer a service to a church, but establishes a relationship and partnership with the church through which we can work together to deliver the service. A key to this relationship is that we share common values, beliefs and ethos. Because of this, we are keen to work with churches who:

  • Share our compassion for the poor and needy
  • Can demonstrate a growing outreaching culture
  • Share our evangelical faith
  • Are committed to serving God in an excellent professional manner

Our vision is to have a CAP centre in every UK town and city by the year 2021. Please contact us to find out more about how we could work together to transform lives in your community.
