Livability Community Mission seeks to equip churches in transforming communities.

They have three resources that are really helpful where community engagement is concerned.

Questionnaire Pack

The first is a Questionnaire pack that is designed to assist churches who are looking to audit the needs in their community.

There are a number of such resources available from different organisations and denominations. There is real advantage to taking a look at a number of professionally produced questionnaires as you look to create on that will serve your purposes as a church.

The pack contains:

  1. An Introduction to the world of Community Questionnaires and a rationale for why we should do this.
  2. Practical issues: This gives tips and pointers regarding the construction and running of such a survey.
  3. Sample Questionnaires: These are not necessarily designed to be reproduced but give you an idea of what is possible.
  4. Living Examples: Here are some real life examples of how questionnaires have been used to great effect.

Community Mission Email Newsletter

This is a great resource that complements Engage perfectly. Rather than looking to help churches take the next step in engaging it seeks to inform them of the resources that are available to support the process of engagement. It often points out potential funding sources and other organisations with expertise across the spectrum of need that a church is likely to come into contact with in its local community. Well worth signing up for.

Engaging Our Communities

A series of three training sessions for church-related community involvement.

Designed for use in groups of ten and above, the sessions look at:

  • preparing for action,
  • researching communities
  • and exploring models of action.
