Paper plate tambourine
Rate this article
These tambourines are great fun to make. Why not use them during your song time session – the children will love it.
You will need:
-
Paper plates (large or small)
-
A selection of coloured ribbons
-
Dried pasta, beans or lentils
-
Coloured pens or pencils
-
Stickers
-
A selection of paints
-
A stapler or glue
How to make a tambourine:
-
Staple two paper plates together around the edges, leaving a gap to pour in the dried pasta, beans or lentils.
-
Allow the children to decorate and colour their tambourine however they want to. Giving them a range of resources like ribbons, pens, stickers or paint will mean that each child will have their own individual tambourine, and you will end up with a lovely range of different colourful creations.
-
When the tambourine has been decorated on both sides, pour in the pasta, beans or lentils until half-full and then finish stapling the edges together.
-
Now let the children shake away and make a wonderful noise.
