You will need:
-
Paper plate
-
Yellow, pink and black card
-
Yellow crepe or tissue paper
-
Gluestick or PVA glue and spreader
-
Washable marker pen or thick felt tip pen
-
Thin elastic (approx. 30cm)
-
Scissors
-
Stapler
-
Yellow crayon or yellow paint and paintbrush (optional)
How to make a lion mask:
-
Cut out a quarter segment and two slanted oval eye holes from the paper plate. Colour or paint the plate yellow (optional).
-
Cut out two yellow ears, two pink inner ears, a yellow muzzle and a black nose from the card. Cut short strips of crepe or tissue paper for the mane. Top tip – cut a strip from the end of the rolled up crepe paper and then cut through the two folds at each end to produce lots of short strips very quickly indeed.
-
Glue the features on to the paper plate.
-
Add detail with the marker or felt tip pen.
-
Cut a suitable length of elastic to go around the back of the head. Tie a knot in each end to stop it slipping through and staple to each side of the plate to complete the mask.
