More than a million different species of insect have been identified so there is plenty of scope for your children’s creativity in this edible craft.
You will need:
-

e.g. ‘Penguin’ biscuit
-
A chocolate tea-cake
-
A fondant chocolate
-
Liquorice or cola laces
-
Two sweets for the eyes
e.g. ‘Dolly mixtures’, halved
-
Icing to glue the insect together. Top tip – supermarkets sell tubs of ready-made chocolate icing which is ideal for this.
How to make an insect biscuit:
-
Cut 3 lengths of laces to make 6 ‘legs’ and stick to the biscuit with icing.
-
Place the tea-cake ‘body’ and chocolate ‘head’ on top.
-
Stick on the sweet ‘eyes’.
