Photo of a pasta skeletonThese look dramatic if stuck on to black card. For younger children pencil in a basic shape and allow them to choose the type of pasta for each bone. Very young children will enjoy sticking the pasta on ‘freestyle’.

You will need:

  • Different colours, sizes and varieties of pasta
e.g. rigatoni (tubes), fusilli (twists), spirali (spirals), conchiglie (shells), farfalle (bows).
Top tip – you can buy tricolore (three colours) pasta or dye it yourself. Put the pasta in a plastic bag with a few drops of food colouring, Shake well until evenly coloured and then spread out on a tray to dry.
  • Thin card
  • PVA glue and spreader. Top tip – gluesticks are not strong enough for this activity.

How to make pasta skeletons:

  • Glue the pasta on to the card.
  • Allow to dry.
