Sheep

Photo of woolly sheepMake a flock of woolly sheep at your parent and toddler group. This could be linked to teaching on the good shepherd or the story of the lost sheep. How about the sheep and the goats or the pascal lamb (maybe not)!

You will need:

  • Stiff white card
  • Washable marker pen or thick felt tip pen
  • Cotton wool balls
  • Gluestick or PVA glue and spreader
  • Scissors

How to make a sheep:

  • Fold the card in half.
  • With the fold at the top, cut out a sheep shape.
  • Add an eye to each side with the marker pen or thick felt tip pen.
  • Glue on the cotton wool balls to each side to make the sheep woolly.

Top tip – cut the cotton wool balls into three slices with a sharp pair of scissors before you start. It makes them go further and reduces the weight on the card so that it will stand up.

Run 21st Century Parent

Run 21st Century Parent alongside a toddler group. Where parents can be doing what thy normally do or join the group in another side room. The sessions are 15-20 minutes long and run at two different times, so that parents can help look after each others children. If possible, why not have a floating crèche worker in toddler group to help as well?
