Adopt an M.P.

Parent and toddler groups can be a real lifeline to families with pre-school children. Wouldn't it be great if all 646 Members of Parliament were given the opportunity to visit a toddler group and see for themselves how wonderful they are?

Playtime, in conjunction with 1277*, would like you to play a part in this by 'adopting an M.P.'. And the good news is, you can do so in just 3 easy steps (none of which involves sleepless nights or nappy changing!):

  1. Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to register your adoption.
  2. Download a pro forma letter to invite your M.P. to one of your sessions.
  3. Send in details of their visit, including a photo if possible. You might like to send this to your local newspaper too.

If you are not sure who your M.P. is, then type in your postcode at this government website to find out their name, email and postal address.

*1277 - Make them Count! - National Strategy for Christian Toddler Groups is a gathering of specialists from all the major denominations and non-denominational organisations who are committed to supporting the work of church-based parent and toddler groups. 1,277 is the average number of days a child has before they start nursery education.
